October 26th Newsletter

October 26, 2009

Dear Parents,

We have a busy week ahead of us. Our field trip to Fiddlin’ Rooster Farm is scheduled for tomorrow. We will leave school around 8:50. The students need to wear their uniforms and comfortable shoes(ones you don’t mind them getting dirty)Bring a bag lunch and a drink. If it rains (which it is supposed to) we will have to reschedule. They will wait until tomorrow morning to contact us. Because we have such a busy schedule, I am giving the children the week-end to work on their Reading projects. They may bring them in on Monday, November 2nd.

MATH – we are reviewing for Chapter 6 test. We will test on Wednesday.

READING – We will not have a story this week. We will be working on an in class project for Social Studies. We are studying the early tribes in Mississippi. The children will research a certain group, write a report, and illustrate on poster board, which I will provide.

LANGUAGE – We are reviewing for Unit 2 test. Please review Workbook pages 21 – 30 before Thursday.

SPELLING – Unit 13
1-18, Pg 85 Monday
1-25, Pg. 86 Tuesday
1-8 Pg. 89 Wednesday

SOCIAL STUDIES – Continue study of Natchez, Choctaw and Chickasaw native Americans.

SCIENCE – Review Chapter 3A – complete study guide and will probably wait and take our test next week.
