Dear Parents,
We will be quite busy this week. Please read the following information so that you can assist your child if help is needed.
Reading – We are reading the story, “We’ll never forget you, Roberto Clemente”. Homework includes vocabulary words and sentences on Monday night. Tomorrow, we will complete a story chart and picture cards. We will complete activities that will enhance their comprehension of the story and vocabulary daily in class. You might want to listen to the story and make up questions for them to answer.
Language – We are working on drafting, revising, and writing a narrative this week. You will also notice that your child has a packet of papers – Wordly Wise. I will be incorporating a weekly grade from each lesson. Students must complete daily work and be able to use the vocabulary words in sentences. An assessment will be given on Friday. The students are doing much better in DOL. Keep checking and keep up the good work!
Math – We began a new Chapter this week. Daily Work is finished for HW.
Notice that we will cover Pgs. 73-83, Chapter 5 this week.
Social Studies – Test on Chapter 2 this week. Study guide went home today. There are some extra workbook pages that should be finished that will also help them in their studies. Be sure to study the skill for the week, “Inset Maps”.
Spelling – Unit 9
Science – We started a new chapter – Chapter 3A – Plants- Look on Planner for homework – None on Monday.
We are planning a field trip to Fiddlin Rooster Farm in October and the Old School and Museum, where the students will spend a day in school in the 1860s, in November. Alisa Fye was gracious enough to check these out and they sound great! A note will go home this week with dates. Linda Still
What a Great Beginning!
